Cathie started fostering in 2016 and has never looked back. Cathie and her husband, Spencer, were "foster triumphs" with two of their foster dogs, Surely and Melody. Cathie enjoys fundraising and planning events for Tails of the North Inc., as well as, manages the overall logistics of the rescue..

  • Frances Marderosian ~ Vice-President and Founder

Frances Marderosian has been retired from the automotive industry since 2009. Her passion for animals developed at an early age. Her rescue journey started with adopting two dogs from Hurricane Katrina, Beatrice and Jacob.

Frances started fostering six years ago. She has two “foster triumphs”, Diva and Delilah. Frances enjoys assisting in any capacity of Tails of the North Inc. she can. She also is the sewer of the rescue, spending tireless amount of hours making various items like bandanas to purchase for donation!

  • Annette Beauchamp ~ Secretary

Annette Beauchamp has been working in Court Services for just under five years. Having grown up with dogs since she was little, it has turned her into a passionate dog lover. When she is not caring for her Pomeranian, Hailey, she is spending time with her spouse, Tyler, and their son, Philippe.

While she is new to fostering, Annette is eager to continue providing a safe home when dogs are waiting to find their furever home. Annette is excited to lead the adoptions division for Tails of the North Inc. She cannot wait to make your dreams of adopting a furever friend pawsible!

  • Susan Vasey ~ Treasurer

Susan Vasey has been working for a popular Retail Chain as a Planning/Project Coordinator for the last nine years. She also has seven years of experience in the Public Sector, helping entrepreneurs start their businesses.

Susan is a dog lover, and like many people, she grew up with a dog always in the home. As a family she always had female dogs, but as an adult and dog owner, my dogs have always been males.

In the Fall of 2016, Susan had to euthanize her beloved Springer Spaniel, Scout at 11.5-years old. “I swore I was going to take a break from having a dog, but I missed the greetings when I walked in the door, missed the walks and talking to my best friend. He was such a good listener.”

Susan knew that she didn’t want to do the “puppy thing”, so she looked into Rescues - where her eyes were opened to the mistreatment and neglect of man’s best friend. “This did not make any sense to me.” Susan then decided to volunteer with a Rescue to better understand what and how a Rescue works. She started as a reference checker and then an adoption coordinator.

In December 2016, Susan welcome her first Rescue dog into her home. “Popeye is my world. I remember walking up the pathway to the Foster’s home and there he was looking out the window, I waved, he wagged, there was an instant bond. I have never had that with a dog before, it was just meant to be.”

Susan is excited to lead the foster division for Tails of the North Inc. “There are so many unwanted and homeless dogs out there that are just looking for someone to love them and give them a second chance… they deserve this chance, they are not at fault, humans are. Remember - adopt, don’t shop - the rewards and unconditional love are so worth it.”

  • Lorie Luciow ~ Director

Lorie Luciow is passionate about her animals. Like most, she grew up with a dog in her home. Since she lost her “boy” Max in 2019, this left a huge feeling of emptiness for her.

Lorie had an amazing opportunity to volunteer at a rescue in the Bahamas, after hurricane Dorian. She was able to become a flight angel, bringing back 3 dogs with other volunteers. After this experience, she knew more had to be done to save these dogs!

Lorie and her husband, Ed, decided to start fostering in 2022. “The joy that you feel when your foster goes to its furever home is so rewarding.” Lorie enjoys assisting in any capacity of Tails of the North Inc. she can.
